FOR RELEASE: Monday, Oct. 12, 2020
CONTACT:   Alexis Weik for Senate, (631) 319-1261; 315-706-6736 (m)

Alexis Weik, Republican and Conservative candidate for State Senate, has been endorsed by 6th District Brookhaven Town Councilman Daniel Panico.

Panico, author of Brookhaven’s tax cap law and a champion of quality of life issues in his community, represents the Tri-Hamlets, Brookhaven hamlet, and other communities that are also contained within Senate District 3.

“New York State government must address the needs of all of its residents. I am confident that Alexis will be a Senator for our suburban interests and for safe communities,” Councilman Panico said.

“I am proud to have the support of Councilman Panico, who is a strong advocate for his communities and our suburban Long Island way of life,” said Weik. “As Senator, I will fight to restore Suffolk County’s voice in state government, and I will partner with strong leaders like Dan Panico to lower our taxes and make our communities safer.”

As Senator, Weik has pledged to restore Property Tax rebates that saved Suffolk County homeowners $700 a year in taxes and to repeal the disastrous bail law that allows 90 percent of criminals to walk free after their arrest.

She’s been endorsed by an unprecedented alliance of law enforcement organizations, and by popular Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine.

Weik currently serves as the elected Receiver of Taxes in the Town of Islip. The 3rd Senate District comprises parts of the Towns of Brookhaven and Islip.
